Names of Culkin Road crash victims released

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace provided additional information on Tuesday’s head-on collision on Culkin Road.

Steven Collins, 67, of Vicksburg, was driving his 1994 Ford pickup truck when it developed a mechanical issue on the left front end which caused the truck to veer into the oncoming lane of traffic. The pickup struck a 2016 Chevrolet Corvette driven by Patrick Belden, 48, also of Vicksburg.

The impact sent Belden’s vehicle into a ravine on the south side of the roadway. Both men were transported to Merit Health River Region and subsequently to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

The accident remains under investigation by Deputy Robert Jackson. No citations have been issued, according to Sheriff Pace.
