Jan. 9 is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

In 2014, a chain of events led to an officer being caught in a crossfire shooting in Missouri. The backlash that followed led the organization, C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors), and others to tackle the negative connotations surrounding law enforcement and offer the public a glimpse into how difficult the career can be.

In 2015 National Law Enforcement Day was born. The day is dedicated to showing support for local, state and federal law enforcement and the service they continue to provide.

Please take the time to thank an officer today.

To our local law enforcement, we appreciate all that you do, every day.
