Neighboring states also seeing a rise in COVID-19 cases
Confirmed cases of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus are continuing to grow across the world and in the U.S.
With every state and Washington, D.C. reporting cases, Mississippi’s neighboring states are no exception.
The Louisiana Health Department reported 257 confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. There have also been seven deaths from the virus. Most of the state’s cases are in the New Orleans metropolitan area.
The following list are parishes in Louisiana where COVID-19 cases have been confirmed as of Wednesday, March 18.

- Caddo
- East Baton Rouge
- Lafourche
- Jefferson
- Orleans
- St. Bernard
- St. Charles
- St. John the Baptist
- St. Tammany
- Terrebonne
- Washington
In other neighboring states, Tennessee has reported 77 cases, Alabama 39 and Arkansas 23. No deaths have been reported in these states.
Total U.S. cases stand at more than 8,000 with 127 deaths.
