Nettles and Brister to participate in the MAIS All-Star Game

St. Aloysius Head Football Coach Bubba Nettles and football player Jake Brister have been selected to participate in the MAIS All-Star Game.
Nettles, who recently finished his second year as the Head Coach of the Flashes, will be the defensive coordinator for the White Team. Eight of his players were recently named to the All-District team.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to coach in this game,” Nettles said. “It’s even more special to do it with one of my own players also and I look forward to the experience and being with other great coaches such as John Baker of Greenville St. Joe and Phillip Wasson of TriCounty. The game of football is sacred in my house and anytime I get to coach it is a bonus.”
Brister, who is averaging 50.3 yards per punt this year along with being ranked as the No. 31 punter in the country, will play in the MAIS All-Star Game as well.
“One of my goals for this year was to make the MAIS All-Star Game, so it feels great to accomplish that,” Brister said. “I’m super excited that I’ll be playing under one of my own coaches and I believe it will be a great experience getting to play with and against the best players in the MAIS.”
Nettles and Brister will be both player and coach once again on Dec. 2, just as they were less than a month ago when they were on the field together.
“I’m also super proud of Jake Brister and the hard work and dedication to his craft is paying dividends and he deserves all of the credit,” Nettles said.
