St. Aloysius is now searching for a new head coach for their program.

Former Head Coach Bubba Nettles was relieved of his duties on Monday after three seasons with the program.

“I want to thank the Vicksburg Catholic School for giving me my first head coaching job and I also want to give thanks to all the players who allowed me to coach them as well as a special thanks to all of my assistant coaches,” Nettles said.

Nettles went 3-27 in his three years as head coach of the varsity team and led the junior high to two straight winning seasons in the last couple of years. His last two years with the varsity team were troubled by injuries and lack of numbers on the field.

Before joining the Flashes’ organization, Nettles coached at Vicksburg High School for over a decade where he helped the Gators to multiple winning seasons. In 2020, he was brought to St. Aloysius by former Head Coach Stacy Sizemore as the defensive coordinator where the Flashes reached the first round of the playoffs.

Although Nettles is no longer to the head coach, he will remain as Athletics Director and teacher at the Vicksburg Catholic School.
