New evidence shows cop killer Amy Brogdon Anderson was killed by officer

New information has been revealed in the shooting death of two Bay St. Louis police officers who were allegedly shot and killed by Vicksburg native Amy Brogdon Anderson.
Initial reports indicated that Anderson killed Sgt. Steven Robin and Officer Branden Estorffe before shooting herself in the chest. New evidence revealed on Friday stated that the bullet fired into Amy came from the gun of one of the officers.
New information also indicated that Anderson believed she was being followed and asked a motel clerk to call 911 for help. Her eight-year-old daughter was in the car at the time of the shooting.
Anderson spoke with the two officers for about 40 minutes before the shooting took place.
“During the course of the conversations with Ms. Anderson, the officers became concerned for the safety of her daughter,” said Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell.
A total of five shots were fired at the scene and Sgt. Robin was shot and killed while standing by the door of Anderson’s vehicle. Officer Estorffe and Anderson both fired their guns twice resulting in Estoffe being hit in the arm and head and Anderson in the chest.
“It’s my belief their fears were justified,” Tindell said of the Officers’ firing their weapons. “There is little doubt in my mind the actions that they took very well could have saved the lives of others.”
A joint funeral will be held for Sgt. Steven Robin and Officer Branden Estorffe on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at the Bay St. Louis Community Center. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the funeral service begins at noon.
