New Times Call for New Journalism



on Many analysts are heralding the announcement as the death knell of print journalism.  There will be an estimated 100 million tablet users by the end of this decade and many other companies are beginning to develop similar applications and websites tailored to tablet users.  There are many people who are questioning NewsCorp’s decision to launch such a platform specific application, when many tablet users are using other manufacturer’s products including products from HP, Dell and others.  While the iPad is the industry’s biggest seller, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab, launched in late 2010, is rising in popularity among tablet users due to the fact that the Android platform, which Samsung uses, allows users to see websites and other content that uses Adobe’s Shockwave Flash.  Apple has not yet reached an agreement with Adobe to utilize the Flash decoder.]]]]> ]]>
