Nigel DeMel Davenport, 1994 – 2023

Nigel DeMel Davenport

Nigel was born on January 17, 1994, in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

He was baptized at an early age at New Mt. Elem Baptist Church and was a member of the choir and also a part of the Free Yo’ Soul Mime Ministry. Nigel never lost his faith in GOD.

Nigel graduated from the public school system in 2012. He was an honors graduate of Jackson State University.

Those Nigel leaves behind to cherish his memory includes his mother, Mrs. Lula W. Davenport; brothers, Nahshon and Ceylon Davenport; sister, Nihsha D. Burks; niece, Noel Dixon; nephews, Noah Bass and Joshua and Jeremiah Burks. Nigel will also be missed by his aunts, Emma Lorretta Warren of California; Renetta Taylor of Texas; Mary Moore, Bertha Mayfield, and Janice Wheatley, all of Vicksburg, MS; uncle, Thomas McCalpin, Jr., of Minnesota; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Nigel DeMel Davenport on May 7, 2023, 11:00 AM at the Vicksburg City Auditorium, 901 Monroe St, Vicksburg, Mississippi under the direction of C J Williams Mortuary Services .

Visitation will be held at C J Williams Mortuary Services, 4310 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg MS on May 6, 2023 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM with family present.

Nigel DeMel Davenport transitioned on April 20, 2023 at the age of 29.
