Warren Central football player Zion Nixon signs to Milsaps
Warren Central High School football player Zion Nixon signed a letter of intent to continue playing football at Millsaps College, after a successful season.
Nixon, who starred primarily on special teams, helped the Vikings to a 8-4 season under head coach Josh Morgan. With Nixon’s help, the team made it to the second round of the playoffs.
Choosing Millsaps was a easy decision for Nixon who is planning to become an engineer while being a student-athlete.
“They are a very academic driven school and they gave me the best offer to continue my football career while pursuing academics so it was the best choice for me,” said Nixon.
Nixon’s time on the field is something that will remain special to him. He was able to celebrate most of his Friday nights with a win.
“Being able to be a part of the school for the last four years has been an amazing experience and I got to learn and develop my skills as a football player,” Nixon said. “When we beat Pearl and started the five game winning streak against was just one of the greatest memories.”
Over the last few years as a Viking, Nixon has learned a lot, on and off the field, and doesn’t hesitate to recognize those who stuck by him.
“I want to thank my coaches, they kept me wanting to play football, my family for always motivating me, and my teammates for all the great memories.”
