A Warren County Sheriff Deputy vehicle and a truck collided head-on with another vehicle on Sunday night, causing the closure of Fisher Ferry while deputies worked the scene. Both drivers escaped injury.

The crash occurred just north of the second entrance to Shenandoah Road as the deputy was following an ambulance to a nearby hospital. According to Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace, the ambulance and deputy had just left a call and were not traveling at a high rate of speed.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol will be handling the investigation into the crash.

“We’re going to allow the Highway Patrol to investigate it, just to have an outside agency come in,” said Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace in a statement to the Vicksburg Daily News. “The good news is, no one is injured. We did have the deputy go to the hospital to be checked out, which is just protocol.”

The other driver involved was attended to by paramedics at the scene and refused further treatment.
