Northwest Mississippi Community College quarterback Jack Walker will be transferring to the University of Southern Mississippi to continue his football career.

Walker announced his decision to join the Golden Eagles Friday on Twitter.

Walker is a former Madison Central High School star, leading the Jaguars to a 10-4-1 season in his 2016 senior year. He threw for 2,058 yards and 16 touchdowns that year.

After high school, Walker went to Georgia State where he was redshirted in 2017. He transferred to Northwest Mississippi CC last year and led the rangers to a 8-3 season, throwing for 2,279 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Walker still has two years of eligibility to play college football. At USM, he will be coached by Vicksburg native Jay Hopson.
