Official statement from Mayor Flaggs on City Hall, county office closures and the extended curfew

As the winter storm continues to impact our area, Mayor George Flaggs released the following statement:
“I’ve spoken with the Warren County Board of Supervisors President Dr. Jeff Holland and as of today, City Hall and County Offices will remain closed on Thursday, Feb. 18, due to severe winter weather conditions continuing to impact our area. A determination regarding City Hall reopening and employees returning to work on Friday will be made on Friday at 4 a.m.
Vicksburg’s curfew will go back into effect on Wednesday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and on Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Exceptions to this curfew include all emergency vehicles, persons traveling to or from work, or persons seeking emergency medical attention. Street conditions are extremely dangerous, even for vehicles with all-wheel drive. Please stay home unless it is an absolute emergency.”
