Ole Miss Rebels skip practice to protest the Jacob Blake shooting
The Ole Miss football team has joined several other sports teams that have skipped practice to protest the shooting death of Jacob Blake.
The Rebels reportedly skipped Friday morning practice and marched on The Square in downtown Oxford. The players were protesting in front of confederate monuments that many people want removed.
The Ole Miss protest began just one day after Mississippi State University football team skipped practice yesterday to protest as well.
Nationwide protesting began after a police officer in Kenosha, Wisconsin, shot Jacob Blake in the back seven times. The shooting left him paralyzed from the waist down. Professional baseball and basketball teams have also joined the protests in the fight against police brutality.
