Scallions has been cheering since the age of five and has also competed in gymnastics and tumbling. She has been with St. Al since she was four years old and quickly blossomed into an athlete who cheers on everyone at the games.

“I love being able to cheer on everyone, and I love the football games, but I especially enjoy bonding with my teammates,” said Scallions.

Scallions won the Star Jumper Award two years in a row at the NCA and UCA Camp, and she was named an All-American in eighth grade. After deciding not to go straight to a four-year school, Scallions felt that Hinds CC would be the best choice for her future.

“I always heard that there was a good community there with lovely people, and my brother graduated from there,” said Scallions.

In her first few years of high school, Scallions was coached by Ashley Smith but cheered under the leadership of Kirsten Golding in her senior year.

“I’m super excited for Olivia, she’s a resilient and confident athlete and I’m excited to see where she goes in the future and we will miss her very much,” Golding said.

Cheer has remained a huge part of Scallions’ life, and she has decided to take her talents to the next level.

“Bonding with my teammates has to be one of the special things that comes with cheer, but I want to thank my family and previous coaches from the beginning all the way to now,” said Scallions.
