Omarion Wingate, an 18-year-old murder suspect from East Carroll, was arrested in Pioneer on July 18, as a fugitive from justice. The West Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office made the announcement on Tuesday, detailing the sequence of events leading to Wingate’s arrest.

The Louisiana State Police informed the West Carroll Sheriff’s Office that Wingate was believed to be hiding in a mobile home in Pioneer. A coordinated response was quickly launched with U.S. Marshals, LSP Swat/Investigators, Oak Grove Police, Pioneer Police, and the West Carroll Sheriff’s Office on the scene.

The mobile home was encircled by law enforcement, and Wingate was instructed to exit the premises. After a short duration, he was taken into custody without any complications.

Wingate was subsequently booked at the West Carroll Sheriff’s Office on charges of being a fugitive from justice and second-degree murder—charges stemming from East Carroll Parish. Later, East Carroll deputies transported Wingate to the River Bend Detention Center.
