Vicksburg Police arrest man wanted in Georgia at accident scene – video

Vicksburg Police officers arrested the driver of a vehicle involved in a two-car accident on U.S. Highway 61 North at the Interstate 20 West overpass Monday night.

A white sedan exited Interstate 20 and headed south on U.S. Highway 61 North just before 7 p.m. Monday. A grey four-door compact left its lane and collided with the white sedan. Neither driver was injured.

The driver of the white sedan told the Vicksburg Daily News he “tried to get as far to the right as I could, but there was nowhere to go.”

Police officers arrested the driver of the grey compact after checking his license, which revealed the man had outstanding warrants in Georgia. The State of Georgia will extradite the driver to face charges there.

The suspect being taken into the Vicksburg Police Department.The roadway has been cleared and traffic is moving normally.
