A Warren County woman was found to be in possession of fentanyl and marijuana while being booked into Warren County Jail after an arrest.

Just before 11 a.m. on Monday, deputies arrested Sydni Uzzle, 27, who lists a Warren County address.

According to Sheriff Pace, Uzzle was arrested on Purvis Hill Road on a circuit court capias warrant for failure to show up to a grand jury. She had been charged with possession of fentanyl.

Uzzle was safely arrested by uniformed deputies and investigators led by Sgt. Ray Thompson, Sheriff’s Detective Jeff Merritt, and Sgt. Donnie Heggins with the VPD. A capias warrant is usually issued to ensure someone appears in court after a failure to appear.

While being processed into the jail, Uzzle was searched and found to be in possession of contraband; two small packages, one containing fentanyl and the other marijuana.

As a result, Uzzle faces new charges of introducing a controlled substance into a correctional facility.  Judge Crevitt placed a $5,000 bond on Uzzle for the new charges.

Regardless, Uzzle will remain in jail without bond because of the capias warrants.
