One dead in Clay Street shooting

One person is dead as a result of a shooting that took place behind Boston Fish Market on Clay Street at approximately 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Vicksburg Police are investigating what is likely a homicide, the seventh in the River City this year.

The victim is an African-American male; however, no identifying information will be released at this time out of respect for the family.

Vicksburg Police Chief Milton Moore told Vicksburg Daily News that a female friend of the victim is in custody after turning herself in.
