One dead in early morning accident on Hwy. 80
One person died in a crash early this morning on U.S. Highway 80 in Jackson.
The man killed was driving an SUV that overturned when it crashed with another vehicle just before 1 a.m. at the intersection of 80 and University Boulevard.
He died on the scene as a result of severe head trauma, WLBT reports. Other than his age, 65, no other details have been released.
The intersection is in the stretch of Hwy. 80 being used to divert traffic from the Interstate 20 road closure.
The driver of the second vehicle was apparently uninjured.
The crash is under investigation.
