One dead in Halls Ferry accident
Just before 3 p.m., a call came into the Vicksburg Warren E-911 Center reporting an overturned vehicle near 6000 Halls Ferry.
A second call described an overturned vehicle with a person trapped in the vehicle. The first response vehicle on scene added to the seriousness of the accident and the first paramedic advised that AirCare should be put on standby. Soon thereafter, deputies ordered “Shut it down,” indicating the road was to be closed in both directions.
A few minutes later “no vitals” was reported and the radio went silent.
The identity of the person in the vehicle, the type of vehicle and any related information will be withheld until the Sheriff, Fire Boss Briggs or the coroner announces that information.
Halls Ferry will be shut down for a while as investigators work the accident scene.
