One in custody after two vehicle collision on Pemberton
One person is in police custody after a two-vehicle collision on Pemberton.
Just after 10 p.m., two vehicles collided on Pemberton near the eastern entrance to Waffle House.
One vehicle was heavily damaged on the passenger side front right and the other vehicle was damaged on the passenger side.
The driver of the vehicle with the heavy damage to the front right was at first detained and then taken into custody by Traffic 1, Bobby Jones.
Several units with the VPD were on the scene to assist Engine 8 and Fire Medic 80.
There were no serious injuries and several people were treated at the scene of the accident but no one was transported via ambulance to the hospital. According to radio traffic, the driver and passenger of one vehicle chose to be transported by private vehicle to the hospital to be checked out.
Traffic was diverted around the accident.
