One shot on Enchanted Drive

Just after 11 p.m., a 43-year-old man was shot in the leg on Enchanted Drive.
A Vicksburg Police officer responded to a report of shots fired in the area of the 200 block of Enchanted Drive. Neighbors said they heard about 15 shots, 12 in rapid succession and then 3 more before the shooting stopped.
When the first unit arrived at the scene they reported a man on the ground, near the street, with a gunshot wound. Engine 8 and Fire Medic 30 responded to the call along with numerous Vicksburg Police Units, including officers with the drug team.
The man was treated at the scene for an extended period of time as EMT’s worked to stop the bleeding and stabilize the patient. The gunshot wound to the lower left leg was not believed to be life-threatening.
An AirCare helicopter was called to an area hospital to transport the gunshot victim. People who suffer a traumatic injury to an extremity are transported to Jackson hospitals for treatment.
Police work paid off
After the patient was transported a flurry of law enforcement activity was noticed at a house where it is believed the gunshots originated. One officer was seen pointing out a shell casing in the driveway of the home. At some point, an officer alerted the other officers that someone was in the house. Neighbors and bystanders watching the scene were ordered back by law enforcement.
A few minutes later a young man was seen in handcuffs. He was placed in a police transport unit. A couple of minutes after that another person was removed from the home, handcuffed and placed in a police car. Police noticed more movement inside the home and were heard saying there is someone in the attic. A couple of minutes later another individual was placed in a police car and police could be heard yelling at another individual, believed to have been hiding in the attic, to come down.
Four people were in custody/detained from that home and taken to the Vicksburg Police Department.
