Outside fire on 61 North -Updated

At 1:02 p.m., a call came into the 911 call center that a small outside fire had started on U.S. Hwy. 61 North, just north of Floweree Road.  A flood displaced pole and small fire were located at 13133 U.S. Hwy. 61 North.

The first volunteer to arrive saw a tree was on fire.

A tree with a bucket near it was initially reported as a transformer and pole that had fallen. Volunteer firefighters with the Culkin Fire Department are on scene.

Three power poles have failed in the last week. A truck struck a power line at Cherry and Harris  snapping a pole. Another pole failed on Laughlin and Central  streets after a tree fell on the lines.

The Vicksburg Daily News will update the story as more information becomes available.
