Over 100 kids attend 8th annual Malcolm Butler Camp

Vicksburg native Malcolm Butler wrapped up his eighth annual football camp on the Vicksburg High School football field.
Butler, who currently plays for the New England Patriots, comes back home every year and blesses young athletes with his camp where they learn multiple football skills.
“I think the camp is having a major impact on the community ,” Butler said. “Inspiring kids and motivating them to want to go to school and have that drive and ambition to do something and standout but I’m just trying to set the tone.”
Over 100 kids gathered at the camp to learn football skills from multiple coaches who volunteered their time and gave back to the community.
The athletes went through team drills, individual drills, and one-on-one competition to enhance their performances. The camp was free and open to 1st through 12th graders.
Since entering the NFL, the Vicksburg High graduate has made made it a purpose to be a great role model for the kids in our community even while playing over 1,000 miles away.
