Over 200 still without power in Vicksburg

Close to 250 Vicksburg residents are still without power after storms blew through the area on Thursday.

Most of those affected are connected to a power line taken out by a tree in the 2200 block of MLK Jr. Blvd. In addition to the taking out power, the tree destroyed two power poles and took out telephone and cable lines.

The Vicksburg Daily News reported live from the scene of the fallen tree on Thursday morning.

Entergy has estimated the damage will be repaired and power restored by 5 p.m.
