“I’m very excited & very impatient to play D1,” Gray said. “It’s always been a dream of mine to be on the big stage.”

Gray started playing football at the age of 10 for the Warren County Ravens, marking the beginning of his journey on the gridiron. He created numerous cherished memories as a young football prodigy on the field.

“One of my favorite memories about football was when I scored a game winning touchdown against the South Jackson 49ers to win the Super Bowl back when I was with the Ravens,” Gray said.

After his time with the Warren County Ravens, Gray continued his football career at Vicksburg Junior High and Vicksburg High School during his freshman year. He then transferred to St. Aloysius as a sophomore.

By his junior year, Gray took over the ground game for the Flashes by rushing for nearly 1,000 yards and catching multiple interceptions on defense.

After careful consideration, Gray decided to play for Fred McNair at Alcorn State University.

“I chose Alcorn mainly because of the strong support system of family & it seemed to be a family school so I just kept the traditional alive,” Gray added.

Family has always been a significant part of Gray’s life, which he expressed with gratitude on his big day.

“I want the thank my baby brother (Ashe’ton Gray) for being my reason to keep striving for greatness. Everything that I do, he’ll try to do the same, so I feel that I’m doing good by him & making a great example for him,” Padre said.

Gray will soon head to campus to play football at a higher level, giving his supporters the opportunity to witness his skills on the field as he runs the football.

Gray is the son of Padre Sr. and Angela Gray.
