PCA and WC both win on Friday night

Porter’s Chapel Academy baseball team got a 7-6 win over Cathedral on Friday night.

John Wyatt Massey’s double in the first inning gave Zach Ashley and Gage Palmer a run in score each.

PCA momentum continued in the second inning with four additional scores by Palmer, Ashley, Chase Hearn, and Massey.

Pitcher Taylor Labarre struck out six batters while Palmer came in relief to strikeout two.

Labarre and Palmer both went 2 for 4 at the plate while Massey got two RBIs. Gavin Pugh and Thomas Azlin each had one hit.

PCA will host Park Place on Monday.

Warren Central wins over Ocean Springs

A big fourth inning led to Warren Central’s win against Ocean Springs, scoring six of their seven points in the fourth. The final score was 7-3.

Warren Central had 11 hits for the night with three coming from Jack Wright. Floyd Davenport, Braxton McCurley, and Blake Channell had two hits each. Ishmael Trujillo and Bo Broome both had one hit.

Trujillo also led with three RBIs.

Pitcher Kylan Lander struck out four batters to help clench the win for the Vikings. Joey Agree came in late to strikeout two.

WC will face Grenada on Saturday.
