PCA boys and girls basketball team defeated Discovery Christian

Porter’s Chapel Academy boys and girl’s basketball team defeated Discovery Christian on Friday.

The Lady Eagles had a scare against DC but was able to pull off the 40-35 win.

After trailing 11-4 in the first quarter, eighth grader Mia Abdo came in and knocked down a shot in the second quarter followed by a few shots by Anjel Walton as they went into halftime down 19-16.

Walton got hot coming out of halftime along with getting help from Hannah Henderson who put up some layups and Sophie Masterson who knocked down a 3-points as PCA took home the win.

Walton finished with 21 points while Hannah Henderson added eight. Masterson put up six while Marley Bufkin contributed three and Abdo finished with two.

The boy’s basketball team easily pulled off a 62-28 win over DC.

As Lawson Selby and Ty Mack came out hot, the Eagles went up 38-9 at halftime. PCA continued to dominate over DC all night long to finish out with the win.

Selby led with 19 points followed by Mack who scored 18. Noah Porter scored eight points while Jase Jung added six. Gavin White put up five and Chase Hearn scored four while Tyler Hatter added two points.
