PCA crushed Kemper 48-0 on Friday

After traveling miles for their season opener, Porter’s Chapel Academy football team came and took down Kemper Academy 48-0 on Friday night.

“Very proud of our team for the depth we showed,”  head coach Blake Purvis said. “We played a lot of guys and were able to maintain the success on both offense and Defense regardless of the combination we had on the field.”

Multiple Eagles made huge plays that impacted the win, starting with Jase Jung returning a 83 yard punt return in the first quarter for a touchdown.

PCA offense was led by quarterback Jace Riggs who went 6 for 8 with two touchdowns and 143 yards. One of was a 69-yarder to Willie Rogers. Riggs also threw his second TD to Rogers who finished with 100 receiving yards.

The run game also succeeded for PCA as Tyler Washington came out in the second half with a 58 yard touchdown run. He finished the game with 67 yards and two touchdowns.

Bryce Rebert also scored for the Eagles on a 25 yard touchdown run.

The aggressive Eagle defense was led by Gage Palmer who came up with 13 tackles, while teammate John Wyatt Massey stepped up and returned an interception for a touchdown. Bridger Jung also had eight tackles on the night with a sack.

Now that PCA dominated in their season opener, their next focus will be on Manchester when they travel again on Friday.
