PCA crushed SIA 71-46 in their season opener

Porter’s Chapel Academy boy’s basketball team showed out in their season opener against Sharkey-Issaquena Academy in a 71-46 win.

The Eagles came out dropping 3-pointers by Noah Porter, Gavin White, Lawson Selby, and Ty Mack as they went up 24-5 in the first quarter. PCA extended their led to 35-19 with the help of Jase Jung and Chase Hearn who got a couple of layups in the second quarter.

The second half consisted of PCA continuing to make shots and advance their lead throughout the night as Porter, Mack, Selby, and Jung took control of things.

By the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Eagles had a 53-33 lead over SIA and would easily take home the win.

Sophomore Porter led with 15 points while Selby added 12 points with seven rebounds and four assists. Hearn put up 11 and grabbed five rebounds while Mack contributed 10 points with four rebounds and three steals. Jung finished with nine points and Taylor LaBarre scored all seven of his points in the fourth quarter.

PCA will travel to face Discovery Christian on Tuesday.
