Porter’s Chapel Academy celebrated homecoming night with a 50-42 win over Prairie View Academy.

“We played great offensively, defensively, and on special teams because they all stepped up and made big plays and we had a much better start than in the previous weeks,” Head Coach Blake Purvis said.

The Spartans got on the board first from a 37-yard touchdown to go up 8-0 but Jase Jung quickly responded for the Eagles with a 43-yard touchdown as PCA trailed 8-6.

The Eagles gained a 20-8 lead after a one-yard score by John Wyatt Massey and a 50-yard touchdown run by Ty Mack. Before halftime the Spartans scored a 67-yard touchdown to end the quarter with PCA leading 20-14.

Coming out of halftime, Massey connected with Thomas Azlin for a 18-yard score and PVA also managed to get in the end zone. Before the end of the third quarter, Jung and Massey would get one-yard scores with PCA leading 42-28.

Although the Spartans grabbed two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, Massey hit Noah Porter for a five-yard touchdown with the game going in the Eagles’ favor.

Mack had a field day in the rushing game as he finished with 206 yards from 15 carries. He also had eight tackles on defense.

Massey went 11 for 19 with 75 yards and two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns. Azlin led the defense with 10 tackles.
