PCA grabs a big 12-2 playoff win over Desoto School on Tuesday

A fourth inning comeback gave Porter’s Chapel Academy baseball team a 12-2 playoff win over Desoto School on Tuesday.
“We played good and with all the hard work we did this year we proved that we’re ready for the playoffs,” Head Coach Paul Ashley said.
PCA went up 1-0 after a RBI by Brayden King that led to Thomas Azlin getting the run. The Eagles would keep the one run lead until the fourth inning.
A single by Vonkanel put Desoto up 2-1 at the top of the fourth but the Eagles would soon respond heavily.
RBIs in the fourth by Lawson Selby, Gage Palmer, Zach Ashley, John Wyatt Massey, and Taylor Labarre gave PCA a 8-2 lead at the end of the fourth.
Palmer came out in the fifth and struck out three straight batters. A RBI by Selby would push the lead to 9-2.
King would get double that brought in two more runs and Palmer finished things up with a sacrifice to end the game with a 12-2 win due to the 10 run rule.
King went 3 for 4 at the plate with five RBIs while Azlin, Chase Hearn, Massey, Labarre, Ashley, and Palmer all had one hit. Massey had two RBIs while Palmer, Ashley and Labarre each had one.
Palmer had a great performance on the mound by striking out 14 and only allowing two hits.
PCA will travel to Desoto on Thursday.
