PCA holds off Manchester 50-40 in a close win on Tuesday

Last minute key shots helped Porter’s Chapel Academy to a 50-40 victory over Manchester last night to advance their record to 12-7.
A profitable first quarter lead to PCA taking a 13-5 lead with Chris Taylor leading the way. Taylor finished the night with 18 points and seven steals.
As the second quarter approached, Nic Williams was able to get the Eagles on the board on a few occasions, which helped PCA go up 22-10 at halftime as they went hard on defense where Manchester struggled to score. Williams would finish with a total of nine points for the Eagles.
Lawson Selby returned in his first game back from an injury and scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds.
Willie Rogers stepped up and came in clutch defensively and grabbed nine rebounds and hit a big layup late in the fourth quarter to help the Eagles bring home the win. He finished with six points on the night.
PCA was up 35-17 going into the fourth quarter where Tyler Washington woke up offensively and put up five points in the final quarter and snatched four rebounds.
By making a few 3-pointers and clutch layups, Manchester began to make a comeback. However, PCA played a hard game to the end and finished out on top.
PCA will travel to Greenville Christian on Thursday.
