Porter’s Chapel Academy Junior High football team recently wrapped up an undefeated season for the second year in a row. The team closed out their season with a 5-0 record.

“I’m proud of this team, we were low in number and didn’t have much depth as the season wore on and they just kept showing up and battling,” head coach Blake Purvis said.” We started out with about 15 and ended with 11. For them to keep the streak alive was huge for the junior high program.”

PCA popped things off with a 38-14 win over Discovery Christian and continued to put up big numbers throughout the year. The offense averaged 31.5 points per game with Jase Jung leading the way with 12 touchdowns.

Laken Bradley took the snaps at quarterback for the Eagles and came up with five touchdowns. He was also very instrumental on defense with 34 tackles.

PCA’s defense also came in clutch by only allowing 12 points per match. They were able to sack quarterbacks multiple times with Conley Johnston grabbing seven sacks to go with his 25 tackles, along with teammate Hunter Simms who had five sacks and 22 tackles.

Madelyn Whitehead snatched 16 tackles, Clayton McClure 10 tackles with one interception, and DJ Smith got 27 tackles and three touchdowns on offense.

The Eagles Junior High haven’t loss a game since 2019. The team will strive to keep their streak going next season, with some players moving up to the varsity level.
