PCA softball team defeated Victors 18-13 on Thursday

Porter’s Chapel Academy softball team made a comeback against Victors to win 18-13 on Thursday.

“I’m excited for the girls and we made some in-game adjustments and we achieved everything we’re trying to accomplish so that really helped,” Head Coach Chandler Upton said.

Victors came out swinging and scored from a couple of errors as the took a 5-0 lead.

PCA managed to get on the board when Ali Blackmon tripled to bring in one run. Audrey Carraway also hit a triple in the second inning to make the score sit at 5-2.

Four more hits by the Lady Eagles would help them take a 6-5 lead by the end of the second.

PCA would never trail again in the win as Marley Bufkin and Emily Phillipson both got a RBI in the fourth inning.

Ali Blackmon scored on a pass ball which was followed by a triple from Bufkin to advance PCA’s lead to 11-7.

Later on in the match, Sophie Masterson hit a double which helped PCA finish with a total of 16 hits.

Blackmon, Masterson, Phillipson, and Bufkin all had three hits while Carraway finished with two. Jaycee Vines and Emily Muirhead each had one hit.

Bufkin and Phillipson both led with four RBIs each while Masterson struck out five in the win. Emily Muirhead and Carraway also had two RBIs.

PCA will participate in the Indianola Tournament on Saturday.

JV Game:

PCA defeated Victors 9-2 where Kinsley Luke led with three strikeouts.
