PCA takes down SIA 78-62 on senior night

Porter’s Chapel Academy boy’s basketball team blew out Sharkey-Issaquena Academy on senior night in a 78-62 win.
Ty Mack started things off with a 3-pointer for the Eagles then shortly Lawson Selby also hit a 3-pointer followed by multiple layups from Noah Porter. Rashad Simms also got PCA on the board as they went up 24-14.
The second quarter was a field day for Porter as he gained help from Chase Hearn and Taylor LaBarre that led to PCA going up 44-27 at halftime.
Mack came out of halftime hot as he made multiple shots along with Selby who popped another 3-pointer. Jase Jung also got a couple of layups in to push their lead to 65-43 heading into the fourth.
The Eagles kept things afloat in the fourth quarter as things ended with Selby popping a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
“We love this school and we love the atmosphere that our fans bring.” We couldn’t ask anymore from them on such a special night and we’re glad we could pull off the W,” Selby and Simms said.
Porter finished with 18 points and Selby added 17 on the board. Mack led the team with 19 points while Hearn and Jung both added eight. LaBarre scored six points and Simms finished with two points.
