PCA took a close 36-32 loss to WCC on Friday

Porter’s Chapel Academy football team had a successful fourth quarter but eventually fell to Wilkinson County Christian 36-32 on Friday.

WCC got two quick touchdowns to go up 14-0 but PCA would respond with a 22-yard touchdown pass from John Wyatt Massey to Thomas Azlin.

By halftime, WCC would go up 22-8 after scoring a 63-yard touchdown.

Midway through the third quarter, Massey connected with Zach Ashley for a 29-yard touchdown. WCC also got in the end zone in the third quarter along with getting a two-point conversion to secure a 30-12 lead.

In the fourth quarter, Massey hit Ty Mack for a five yard score, Ashley for a  55-yard touchdown, and ran in a three yard touchdown but WCC would also get a touchdown from nine yards out and take the 36-32 win.

Massey threw four touchdowns and passes for 158 yards while rushing for 60 and one touchdown. Mack rushed for 52 yards and Ashley led with 84 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Azlin had three catches for 52 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, Azlin led with eight tackles and Jacob Rutland had 5.5 tackles.
