PCA’s baseball season ended with a 3-2 loss to Tunica Academy

Porter’s Chapel Academy’s baseball season ended on Monday in a 3-2 loss to Tunica Academy in game three.

In game two PCA took a 2-1 loss on Thursday where Lawson Selby gave the team their lone run after a single.

Game three was delayed on late Thursday night due to lightning where the score was 2-2 in the seventh.

The Eagles got in the board first after an RBI from Thomas Azlin in the second and fourth inning.Tunica would pick up their runs in the fourth and fifth inning to tie the game at two.

Early on in the game, Chase Hearn got a couple of hits while John Wyatt Massey, Zach Ashley, Taylor LaBarre and Gavin White all had a hit.

On Monday the game was resumed with a tied score to see who would move on to the next round.

Gavin White would a successful bunt while Ashley hit a double but PCA failed to get a run in the seventh as the score remained tied at two while Tunica went up to bat. PCA’s defense would step up again and force the game to go to another inning with Gage Palmer pitching.

The game would eventually go into nine innings where Tunica took the 3-2 win after a single from P. Cook.

Selby and Hearn both had two hits on the night.

The Eagles ended their season with a 16-10 record under head coach Paul Ashley.
