Multiple vehicle pile up on I-20 West at 17 mile – multiple injuries

Two 18-wheelers and multiple vehicles running into them are being reported at the 17-mile marker on I-20 West. Initial reports indicate there were multiple injuries in the incident.

This accident is just occurring and first responders are challenged to get to the scene because of earlier accidents.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace is en route to the accident, along with Fire Boss Jerry Briggs and numerous rescue units, ambulances and fire trucks.

Just before the pile-up, reports came in of a multi-vehicle accident on I-20 East near the 12-mile marker of an accident with injuries involving several children.

Deputies are en route to the accident scene.

It is now being reported there are no major injuries. Fire and rescue are being dispatched to the scene. Traffic is I-20 backing up in the eastbound lanes.
