Play2Wynn basketball camp celebrated 20 years of successfully training young athletes

Vicksburg native Donna Brown-Wynn held her 20th annual Play2Wynn basketball camp last week, where over 40 young athletes improved their skills.

“It didn’t matter to me if I had 10, 25, 55 or 45 campers,” Wynn said. “It’s about teaching, coaching, developing, and nurturing. I see so much potential in these campers and I wish I had more than one week to make a difference with each one of them.”

The camp was held for 6 to 17-year-olds. They each went through multiple amounts of drills led by Wynn, along with a few helpers, including WCJHS head coach Latoya Lumpkin.

After five days of intense training, a few players received awards for their standout performances.

On the last day of camp, a few athletes stepped away to speak about some of the good things they had been learning since Monday:

Wynn has successfully thrown this camp for two decades and continues to give back to her hometown which has had a positive impact on the youth in this community.
“I’m so thankful and grateful for the opportunity to have a camp in my hometown and my heart is overjoyed to be able to have a camp for 20 years,” Wynn said.
