Plaza Hair Care to relocate after 36 years

Plaza Hair Care in the Pemberton Plaza is relocating after 36 years in the same location.

Owner Lee Abraham said, “It’s time. I’ve been thinking about it for a good while now and the flooding did it.”

Pemberton Plaza, where Plaza Hair Care is located, flooded over the weekend after a heavy downpour and an unfortunate series of events. Construction crews with Central Asphalt were working to replace the storm drains but didn’t have them far enough along to properly drain the parking lot when the heavy rains hit. The drain installation project will drain Pemberton Boulevard, which is notorious for backing up after heavy rain. The drains also service the Pemberton Plaza parking lot.

“It’s flooded before, but never like this,” was the statement Abraham made on Saturday as water entered his shop.

The new location of Plaza Hair Care will be 1405 South Frontage Road, just across from Home Depot and the car wash. “We should be in there in a couple of weeks,” advised Abraham.
