I met Thor his first week in town. He came down to the Klondyke to play, or more accurately, so the officers could make Thor jump on me.

I passed on the opportunity to put on the padded garb and be chewed to death by a vicious police dog.

But Thor’s youthful spirit was still obvious underneath all the training he had been through. He was assigned a partner and together, they arrested over 60 felons in Vicksburg. They sniffed out a bunch of crime.

Thor was also a member of that family. If you’ve ever had a highly trained animal as smart as these police dogs, then you know they are just like a family member. And this family has experienced a tragedy.

In honor of Thor and his family, we are asking you to change your profile picture to:

Thor.

We are asking you to keep that as your profile picture for three days until sundown, Sept. 7, 2019.

Vicksburg is a great community that comes together for each other. Now would be a great time to show your support and love for Thor, his family and our Vicksburg Police Department.
