Police arrest five at residence on National and Victory

Five people are in custody after police raided a home near National and Victory streets.

At around 12:50 p.m. officers used a battering ram, a shield and attempted to serve a warrant at a Vicksburg home.

One of the individuals in the home ran, a short chase ensued and they were captured. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene and individuals were checked out but no one was transported. In all, five males were observed taken into custody from the scene.

Multiple units with the Vicksburg Police Department, including Police Chief Penny Jones, Deputy Chiefs Charlie Hill, Mike Bryant and Troy Kimble, along with Tommy Curtis, Mario Grady, Donnie Heggins and Matt Barnes, and many others were present on the scene.

The VPD is refusing to release any information at this time.
