The police chase that caused a stir on Friday morning has now come to a close.

Earlier Friday, 911 operators received a call from the driver of a Dodge Durango brandishing Texas plates.  The driver stated he was armed and suicidal, which prompted an immediate police response.

Several departments joined in the pursuit, as it led them around the Vicksburg-Warren area and ended near the Yazoo County line.

At 11:21 a.m. the suspect surrendered to authorities, which gave conclusion to the car chase incident reported earlier in the day.

He will be kept on suicide watch following his process into the Yazoo Regional Detention Center. He will be extricated to Abilene, Texas where he has felony charges pending.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace and Vicksburg Police Chief Milton Moore said the man will not face charges in Warren County.

No names have been released as of this reporting.
