Port Gibson advances to the third round of the playoffs after defeating Crystal Springs

Port Gibson High School boy’s basketball will be heading to the third round of the playoffs after defeating Crystal Springs 68-58 on Saturday.

The Blue Waves took a 20-18 first quarter lead after Kam Brown knocked down two 3-pointers along with some free throws by Darrel Hedrick. By halftime, PG was up 41-35 as Brown and Hedrick continued to control things along with some help from Tony White, Jaylen Hill and D’Andrew Reynolds.

Crystal Springs managed to take creep up on the Blues Waves and take the lead in the third quarter as PG trailed by seven.

Reynolds and Rakeem Davis pitched in heavily in the final quarter while Brown and Hedrick continued to dominate as the Blue Waves captured the win.

Brown finished with 31 points and five assists while Hedrick added 16 points. Reynolds scored eight while Davis and White both pitched in six on the board. Hill finished with two points and six rebounds.

PG will play Morton at Mississippi College on Saturday
