Port Gibson clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2017
Port Gibson High School football clinched a playoff spot on Friday for the first time since 2017 in a 28-14 win against Franklin County.
On the first play of the game, Jeremiah Christian ran for a 63-yard touchdown.
Cameron Gibson had a good passing game by hitting Quavian Barnes for a 70-yard score. He also threw a 33-yard touchdown to Damien Miller while Jaquavion Barber got the two-point conversion.
Christian also got another touch from 10 yards out to help secure the win for the Blue Waves.
PG finished with 335 yards of total offense with lead blockers Rakeem Davis, Maurice Buck, D’Korrien Simmons, Eddie Liggins, Robert Sykes, and Brandon Banks.
Defensively, Anthony Brown, Louis Coleman, Walker Wright, and Ira Thomas all had some key stops for PG.
The Blue Waves will host Newton on Friday.
