Port Gibson defeated WC 54-53 in the final seconds on Tuesday

Port Gibson High School boy’s basketball grabbed a final second 54-53 victory over Warren Central on Tuesday.
Shots by Gaylon Turner and Kam Brown tied things up at 10 in the first quarter of the hectic game.
By halftime, the Blue Waves earned a 29-27 lead with help from D. Hedrick and Brown. Deonta Segrest also pitched in a few points for WC in the second quarter.
D. Reynolds popped a 3-pointer for PG coming out of halftime and D. Miller was able to score four points in the third quarter to help the Blue Waves go up 44-39 heading into the fourth.
Although PG had the lead, WC’s Lazaveon Sylvester couldn’t be stopped in the paint as he grabbed multiple rebounds and scored 10 points alone in the fourth quarter.
Down 54-51 with less than five seconds to play, Padre Gray Jr. drew a fouls from the 3-point line. He manger to knock down the first two but missed the last shot and the Blue Waves took home the win.
Sylvester led WC with 22 points and Turner added 14 on the boar while Gray added seven points.
Brown led PG with 17 points and Hedrick scored 10 while Miller and M. Barnes both had eight points.
