Port Gibson authorities make drug bust at gas station on Highway 18
Port Gibson authorities arrested a man for carrying a large amount of marijuana, money and a weapon on Thursday.
According to Chief Russel Dorsey, Units responded at around 10:30 a.m. to the Citgo on Highway 18 in reference to a disturbance.
Upon arriving, Chief Dorsey spotted the suspect involved, Samario Good, 27, attempting to leave the scene. Chief Dorsey noticed Good had put an item in the back of his vehicle and blocked him from leaving.
Chief Dorsey got Good out of the vehicle and noticed the smell of marijuana. A search warrant was obtained on the scene and the vehicle was later searched.
Upon searching the vehicle, a large amount of marijuana was recovered, along with a 9mm handgun, $6,500 in cash, scales and three phones.
Good was arrested and booked into the Port Gibson Police Department.
“Drugs lead to violence. I stand firm on keeping our streets clean from drugs and violence. My department and I will continue to take every measure to make sure our citizens are safe,” said Chief Dorsey
