Port Gibson native Jacory Rankin named to the HBCU Watchlist

Port Gibson native Jacory Rankin made the HBCU Sports Preseason All-SWAC second team, the HBCU Preseason Watch List and the Phil Steele Preseason All-SWAC 3rd Team.

Rankin, who plays wide receiver for Mississippi Valley State University, is headed into his senior year with the Delta Devils.

In 2021, Rankin caught 42 passes and racked up 682 yards with four touchdowns. He is one of their top players who are returning from last years team that finished with a 4-7 record.

MVSU’s season will begin on Sept. 1 against Tarleton.
