Port Gibson native Myron Stewart Jr. and Jacory Rankin will both enter the 2023 NFL Draft.
Stewart and Rankin both confirmed the news to VDN a little over a week ago during a youth football ceremony.
Myron Stewart:
Stewart spent the last few seasons playing defensive back for Grambling State University where he finished his career with 54 tackles, two interceptions and five pass deflections. He was heavily known to be a shutdown cornerback for the Tiger and was selected to play in the Cajun All-Star Bowl.
Jacory Rankin:
Mississippi Valley State’s go-to wide receiver has been Rankin for a while now, especially in his junior season where he had 682 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He finished his college career at MVSU with 1,110 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns while being selected to play in the HBCU Pigskin Showdown and the HBCU Legacy Bowl.
Both Rankin and Stewart were teammates at PG High School where they led the Blue Waves to a 10-4 season in 2017.
The NFL Draft will be held on April 27-April 29.
